AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Senior Lizzy Stanton was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Performer of the Week for the third time this season after leading Capital to a historic finish at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Stanton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Withrow HS) won both the long jump and triple jump to aid the Crusaders to a third place finish, which was its best ever at the All-Ohio Championships. She won the long jump by over five inches and took home the title in the triple jump by 3.5 inches. Stanton posted a mark of 17-08.75' in the long jump and an OAC season-best distance of 35-02.00' in the triple jump. Her performance in the triple jump improved her season-best mark by 4.5 inches.
Capital will play host to the Rick Meindl Last Call meet on Friday at the Capital Center fieldhouse. Field events begin at 5 p.m. with the running events getting underway at 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free, but spectators are urged to allow extra time for parking as the Capital Center will also be hosting a High School basketball game on Friday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m.
