CRUSADER BASEBALL TRIO NAMED TO OAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Three members of the Capital University baseball team were recognized on the Ohio Athletic Conference All-Academic Team on Wednesday following voting by the OAC’s faculty athletics representatives. Juniors Justin Stegman and Matt Uy were First Team picks while sophomore Steven Veenstra was an Honorable Mention selection.
SMITH EARNS ALL-OAC HONORABLE MENTION RECOGNITION
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University sophomore first baseman Ian Smith earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference Honorable Mention honors on Monday following a vote conducted amongst the conference’s baseball coaches.
VEENSTRA NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT SECOND TEAM
Capital University sophomore baseball player Steven Veenstra was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Second Team on Thursday following a vote conducted amongst the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
CRUSADERS SWEPT ON SENIOR DAY AGAINST MUSKINGUM
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital lost both ends of a season-ending baseball doubleheader with Ohio Athletic Conference rival Muskingum on Saturday at Clowson Field. The Crusaders closed out the season with a five-game losing streak to finish with a 12-26 overall record and a 4-14 mark in OAC play.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital was out hit 17-7 by Ohio Wesleyan in a 14-2 non-conference loss on Thursday at Clowson Field.

ADA, Ohio – Visiting Capital stretched its winning streak to three straight games with a Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep of Ohio Northern on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders took the opener, 8-7 and the finale, 7-5.
BASEBALL SPLITS OAC TWINBILL WITH WILMINGTON
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital was the benefit of solid pitching throughout the day as it earned a split of an Ohio Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader with Wilmington at Clowson Field on Friday. The Crusaders lost the opener, 4-1, but rebounded to take the finale, 14-6.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – A four-run outburst in the top of the 10th inning did not hold up for visiting Capital as the visiting Crusaders dropped a non-conference baseball game to Wittenberg, 10-9 in 11 innings on Thursday evening.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital was swept in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader by first-place Mount Union on Saturday at Clowson Field. The Purple Raiders shutout the Crusaders, 9-0, in game one before outscoring CU in the finale, 21-7.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital lost a non-conference matchup with local rival Wittenberg, 11-4 on Thursday at Clowson Field.
CRUSADER BASEBALL HANGS WITH #14 MARIETTA IN OAC DOUBLEHEADER
MARIETTA, Ohio – Visiting Capital took a two-run lead into the middle of the sixth inning of the second game at #14 Marietta, but could not earn the split as it lost 4-3 in the nightcap and 7-2 in the opener of an OAC baseball doubleheader on Monday evening at Don Schaly Stadium.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital University baseball team evened its record to 9-9 this season with a 12-8 victory over Hiram in non-conference action on Sunday at Clowson Field.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital had plenty of offense on Saturday as it split an Ohio Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader with John Carroll. CU rallied for an 8-6 win in the opener before falling in the finale, 18-9.

GAMBIER, Ohio – Visiting Capital tallied 10 runs in the final three innings to secure a 13-7 non-conference baseball victory over Kenyon on Thursday evening. Both teams are now 7-8 overall this season.
