CAPITAL TENNIS TEAMS SWEPT BY BRANDEIS

MEN'S BOX SCORE | WOMEN'S BOX SCORE 

 

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Capital University men’s and women’s tennis teams were each swept by Brandeis in indentical 9-0 scores on Monday.

 

The Crusader men had a number of competitive matches as junior David Albert (Sandusky, Ohio/Sandusky HS) and senior Austin Wathen (Hilliard, Ohio/Hillard Davidson HS) teamed up to fall just short at second doubles by a score of 8-5. 

 

In singles action, senior Jason Long (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville HS) dropped his match at number four by a count of 6-2, 6-3.  Also, senior Patrick Ziders (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Township HS) won the opening set 6-2 at sixth singles before losing the second set in hard-fought battle 6-4 as well as the third set tiebreaker.

 

On the women’s side, Brandeis swept the second and third doubles matches as well as the singles play on courts number three, four and five.

 

Junior Audrey Craig (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Southview HS) had the best effort of the day for the Crusader women as she lost in the sixth singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-1
