Presentation Guidelines for Internships in the Department of Communication

Please include the following elements in your 10-minute presentation to the faculty: 

     Use the Informative Speech pattern to structure your presentation
*     Student name, major, and class standing (Junior, Senior)
*     Name of organization with which the student interned or engaged in a pre-professional activity
*     Type of organization (not-for-profit, retail, medical, etc.)
*     Number of hours of university credit for the internship
*     Name & title of on-site supervisor
*     Department in which the student interned or engaged in a pre-professional activity
*     Number of hours on-site for the internship or pre-professional activity
*     Specific tasks conducted as part of the experience
*     What the student feels was the most important aspect of the experience
*     How the experience tied in with course work in his or her major
*     Examples (both visual and actual materials) of work projects
            such as news releases, brochures, DVDs, CDs, presentations, editing, etc.
*     Final thoughts, observations and/or recommendations
