Capital University Teaching Licensures

As a Capital University education major, you can earn a teaching license in your choice of more than 20 specialties. With careful planning, you can earn licensure in two specialties. Learn more about these licensures by reviewing Capital's graduation requirements for each licensure.  Choose from:

  • Early Childhood (grades pre-K-3 / ages 3-8)
  • Middle Childhood (grades 4-9 / ages 8-14)

    • Language arts
    • Science
    • Social studies
  • Adolescent to Young Adult (grades 7-12 / ages 12-21)
    • Chemistry
    • Dual area science
    • Earth science
    • Integrated language arts
    • Integrated mathematics
    • Integrated science
    • Life science
    • Physical science
    • Integrated social studies
  • Multi-Age (grades pre-K-12 / ages 3-21)
    • Physical education
    • Health education
    • Music education (vocal and/or instrumental)
    • Visual arts
  • Intervention Specialist (grades K-12 / ages 5-21)
    • Mild/Moderate
  • Endorsement (limited to the ages and grade levels listed on the teacher licensure)
