Admission Requirements for Education Majors

Admission Requirements for the Teacher Education Program

To be accepted as a teacher education student, you must complete an application form (available in the education department office). You must also earn the following minimum scores on the Praxis I: Academic Skills Assessment or the ACT:

Reading 17327
Writing17227

And you must:

  • Successfully complete EDUC 211 and/or EDUC 221 and/or MUS 242 with a grade of C or above
  • Achieve and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.500 or above
  • Maintain consistent academic progress
  • Earn a C or above in mathematics and oral and written communication general education courses
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional attributes and dispositions through field-based and clinical experiences
  • Verify good moral character
