It's Not Freezing, Yay!

So, I was sitting in the office today calling prospective students, which usually doesn’t take very long. Let’s be honest, when a lot of you get those calls, you usually just want to get them off the phone, right? It sickens me to say this now, because now I work for that department in admissions, but I did that when I was a senior (because I always had to be somewhere. I had no life in high school). But tonight, one of the prospective students actually talked to me (which you should do! Take advantage of talking to an actual student from that school). The student was confused between three schools, and didn’t know which to pick. One of which was a large state school.

Something I really like about private schools -and I find different from large state schools- is the intimate class size. This student happened to be interested in music. One of my best friends is in the conservatory here, and it seems that whenever I go in there with her, every single faculty member says hello to her, calls her by her name, and some of them even stop her to ask her how she is doing. I personally have this relationship with a lot of the professors in my department, and it’s really nice. I feel that it’s nice to have professors in my major who know me personally, and know my lifestyle. Some of my professors even know I’m in a sorority, and ask how it’s going sometimes. It’s just really comforting to have that relationship outside of the classroom as well; one that might come in handy in later years, when I need references for graduate schools or jobs. I always tell my tours that, and I never actually thought about putting it up here.

In other news, mid-semester break was a success. It was a bit cold, but otherwise nice to get a break. New Member Education is almost done. I got a little sister this year, which was very exciting. (Love you, little!) We have some events coming up for Chi in the spring, so we are getting ready for that.

It’s just really exciting to know that spring is coming. It was actually warm out today, and the weather forecast for the weekend looks fabulous. = )

That’s it for now. Have a good weekend!

Luck and love always,
xoxoheather

P.S. I’m on a boat. No, not really, but I want to be. Sooner or later, I want to take a cruise. Yes, I know that was random. Sorry.
