CAPITAL BASKETBALL HEADED TO JOHN CARROLL FOR NCAA SECTIONAL ROUND

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Capital University men's basketball team will continue play in the NCAA Division III Championship this weekend at John Carroll University according to a release by the NCAA on Sunday afternoon.

Capital will face University of Texas-Dallas on Friday at 6 p.m. ET.  The second game of the sectional will feature fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member and host John Carroll taking on Guilford College at 8 p.m. ET.  The winners of Friday's games will meet on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET for the right to advance to the NCAA Division III National Semifinals in Salem, Va.

The Crusaders (26-4) will be riding an emotional 72-70 victory on a buzzer-beating shot by sophomore D.J. Frazier on Saturday against Wooster.  CU is now in the NCAA Sectional Round as one of just 16 teams remaining in the tournament.  Capital will be making its second-ever trip to the NCAA Sectional Round and its first since 1982.  The Crusaders have won a school-record 26 games this season with two of their four losses coming in the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

The Comets (25-4) of UT-Dallas received a first round bye in the tournament and are advancing to University Heights, Ohio following a 70-54 victory over Trinity on Saturday.  UT-Dallas posted a 16-4 regular season record in the American Southwest Conference and won the ASC Tournament Title to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Ticket information for all three games at John Carroll will be released on Monday afternoon.  Every Capital game will be carried live on WFCO (90.9 FM) and www.CapitalCrusaders.net.
