MEN’S GOLF OFF TO EIGHTH PLACE START AT MUSKINGUM INVITATIONAL

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Capital University men's golf team started its spring schedule in eighth place at the midway point of the 2009 Muskingum Spring Invitational after Friday's first round of action at Eagle Sticks Golf Course. 

Capital had a team score of 311, which was three shots behind seventh-place Calvin, six shots back of sixth-place Adrian and nine shots shy of fifth place Baldwin-Wallace.

Junior Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) paced the Crusaders with a score of 72 on the Par 70, 6,508-yard course.  He shot 37 on the front side and 35 on the back nine to tie for sixth place out of 63 individual golfers.

Freshman Cameron Baker (Lima, Ohio/Spencerville HS) was just four shots back of his teammate in a tie for 21st place with a score of 76.

Sophomore Nate Delong (Circleville, Ohio/Logan Elm HS) and junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS)  followed with scores of 78 and 85 respectively.  Delong sits in a tie for 36th place while Garcia is currently in 58th position.

Freshman Stephen Moller (London, Ohio/Madison Plains HS) rounded out the Crusader competitors in 62nd place individually with a score of 89 on the first day.

Capital will resume action with a final 18 holes on Saturday morning beginning at 10:50 a.m.
