Host Ohio Wesleyan leads the pack with team score of 294. Capital sits in 12th place at 325 just eight shots back of Spaudling (317) and 12 behind Wooster (313).
Junior Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) sits in a tie for 21st place out of 87 golfers with a first round 75 on the 6,587-yard, Par 70 course.
The junior duo of James Koon (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley HS) and Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) follow with scores of 81 and 83 respectively. Koon finishes the first day in a tie for 62nd place while Garcia is tied for 67th position.
Freshman Stephen Moller (London, Ohio/Madison Plains HS) carded a first-round 86 to tie for 78th place while sophomore Jordan Flack (Chillicothe, Ohio/Huntington HS) is in 82nd place after firing an 88.
The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday at Oakhaven Golf Club.
