COMPLETE RESULTS 

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Homestanding Capital won four of five contested singles matches in a 5-2 victory over Central State in a non-conference women's tennis match at the Columbus School for Girls' Kirk campus on Thursday.

Capital (2-13) had its biggest challenges of the day at first singles and second doubles from NCAA Division II Central State.

Sophomore Robin Burnette (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West HS) outlasted her opponent in singles play by a count of 7-5, 7-5 to lift her record to 5-10 on the season.  Burnette also teamed up with freshman Taylor Gilliam (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon HS) to sweep a first doubles match, 8-0.

The duo of freshman Kristen Foss (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) and senior Erica Pittman (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) fell at second doubles in a 9-7 (3) match that went down to the wire.  Pittman did come back to earn a point at third singles with a 6-2, 7-5 victory.

Gilliam and freshman Krissy Lahman (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick HS) won their respective matches at second and fifth singles for Capital which will host its season finale on Saturday against Otterbein at the Columbus School for Girls' Kirk campus beginning at 10 a.m.
