"This summer, I need to work hard on my game to make sure I make this team better. A big part of my game that I want to improve on is my passing. Getting my teammates open shots is one thing I really want to do well next year. I also need to get myself in position to get good shot opportunities.
"We lost a lot of key players from last year, but who we have coming back has the experience of winning the OAC regular season and tournament championships. Our success last season has enabled us to know what winning on this level is like. "
"I WILL be a reliable leader"
"Being a senior, I feel like it is my time to be the voice of the locker room. This will be my fourth year in the program, so I need to let the younger players know what it takes to win and to thrive as a team and as individuals.
"Coach Jeffers always has counted on the seniors to be the captains, and I want to fill in that role this year. I think good leadership contributes to the success of the program. The rallying cry for this program and me has been becoming leaders and champions."
"I WILL try to become an excellent teacher"
"I've always wanted to become a teacher. I am looking forward to student teaching and taking on the role of a real teacher. The education program at Capital has really helped me realize my ability as a teacher.
"My ideal class would be teaching eight grade language arts or social studies. I feel that students need to have an active role in the classroom, and it's my job to make sure they reach their full potential. I can relate the teamwork and practice I've learned in basketball to the classroom."
"I WILL try my hardest to succeed in whatever I do"
"In order to be successful, you always have to continue to work and to be always be prepared for whatever is coming ahead. This applies with graduation, finding a job, and everything else that comes after that. There are unknown challenges ahead of me, but I know that if I continue to set and meet goals, that I will overcome them."
