Accreditation Reaffirmed for Capital University Business Programs
Capital Earns Highest Score for Measuring Student Learning, Performance

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs has reaffirmed the accreditation of business programs at Capital University’s School of Management and Leadership.

ACBSP, the leading specialized accreditation agency for business education supporting, celebrating and rewarding teaching excellence, reaffirmed the accreditation of Capital’s undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Economics, Leadership and Management, and Marketing, and the Capital Master of Business Administration program.

The programs received the top score of Very Good for having a robust process in place to systematically measure and analyze student learning and performance – and for linking that process to universitywide assessment efforts.

ACBSP specifically noted that faculty members develop student-learning outcomes using input from a broad group of stakeholders, including business and industry leaders, advisory board members, employers, students and campus administrators.

“This award speaks to the quality of our business programs and to the relevance of a Capital education,” Capital President Denvy A. Bowman said. “Our graduates enter the workforce – Ohio’s workforce, especially – with the right combination of critical thinking, analytical and practical skills, giving them a competitive edge in a dynamic, global marketplace.”

“Capital University has shown its commitment to teaching excellence by participating in the accreditation process, achieving accreditation and continuing the process of quality improvement,” Douglas G. Viehland, executive director of the ACBSP, said. “This accreditation is evidence of Capital’s commitment to quality business programs.”

ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within that institution meet the rigorous educational standards established by the ACBSP. The ratification of accreditation by ACBSP covers a 10-year period during which time Capital must continually reaffirm its quality through periodic reports.
