You can do it in two Saturdays a month!

The Capital University Saturday Program is a degree completion program for students with associate degrees and/or experiential learning. Students take courses that meet two Saturdays a month (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) with an online component. This allows sufficient flexibility for public safety employees on rotating shifts to complete their degree while maintaining a rotating shift schedule.

Bachelor’s degree completion is possible in 24 months.

Why organizational leadership?

The organizational leadership program offered at Capital University integrates knowledge and research from coursework in business, social science, applied research and general education . Its goal is to educate public safety employees for lives of reflective service, ethical leadership and social change.

Earn College Credit for Public Safety Training

An interdisciplinary major allows students to personalize the content of their major by integrating on-the-job training, certification and previous coursework in organizational leadership.

Capital’s program meets the needs of public safety employees by providing:

The Organizational Leadership concentration in the Interdisciplinary Studies major is designed to be part of a bachelor’s degree completion program. The goal is to prepare public safety professionals for roles as organizational leaders through a curriculum that combines experiential learning, certificates and coursework in business, social science, applied research and general education. All Bachelor of Arts degrees from Capital have at least 124 credits with courses in three areas: the major, general education and electives.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted, a prospective student is required to:   

  1. Have 30 hours of transferable semester credit or 45 quarter credit hours with a 2.5 g.p.a. or above.  (Certificates and significant work experience will be considered in lieu of college credit.)                             

  2. Demonstrate a commitment to higher education, the ability to work independently, and the necessary skills for academic success.

Step 1:  Complete the free online application or contact us at 614-236-6996 for a printable application and send it in with the $25 non-refundable application fee.

Step 2:  Request official transcripts from all institutions that you have previously attended to be sent to Capital University.

Step 3:  If applying for financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This form can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Step 4:  Expect our call.  Once your application, $25 non-refundable application fee and official  transcripts have been received; you will be contacted to schedule your admissions interview.
