Dr. Andrea Thomas received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University.  She has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and did her doctoral research on emotional intelligence and its impact on people’s success in the workplace.  Beginning in 1994, Dr. Thomas worked at The Limited, Inc. in the Organization and Leadership Development area for five years, and subsequently worked at PRADCO, a management consulting firm, for three years.  In these roles, Dr. Thomas was involved with the development and implementation of selection tools (e.g., testing, interview guides) and performance appraisal tools.  She also developed many one-on-one coaching relationships, assessed job candidates, delivered performance feedback, and conducted a variety of training programs, including several focused on team building.

In 2001, Dr. Thomas joined the business faculty at Capital University, where she teaches Organizational Behavior and Training and Development.  She also continues to consult and has particular expertise in the areas of evaluating outside candidates for fit within an organization, delivering 360-degree feedback, helping individuals to create and implement development plans, and coaching teams to better communicate and manage conflict.  A partial list of her clients includes Lane Bryant, Battelle Memorial Institute, Crane Fencing Solutions, and The Washington Township Fire Department.
