Hello again, all!
As my summer winds down, I wanted to take a moment to update you all on my wonderful summer break & some exciting things that are happening around campus.
I began my summer break in a pretty unusual way: in the hospital. My body had to be difficult and decide to have Crohn’s Disease during finals week! However, every single one of my Professors were more than willing to work with me and await my recovery before asking me to take my finals. I am happy to say that I got through the semester with As and Bs, although I was still feeling under the weather while taking my final exams.
On a happier note, I took a trip to Cedar Point & Lake Erie this summer & spent some quality time with The Millennium Force & Top Thrill Dragster; my two favorite rides. I was also able to see my baby sister graduate from Groveport Madison HS and Eastland Career Center, be a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding, and go to my third Rascal Flatts concert. Friday, I’ll be going to the Keith Urban concert and, on August 26th, I’m taking my sister to the Journey concert as her graduation gift. Then, of course, back to school bright & early on the 31st!
Some exciting things have been happening at Cap over the summer, and should be ready for students when they return to campus in a few weeks. Cotterman, the residence hall that I’ll be moving in to as an RA on Sunday, has been under construction literally ALL summer and should be basically brand new inside; the Mound Street Plaza has been totally demolished between the Conservatory and Saylor-Ackermann during the construction of our new ‘water feature’ that was donated by an alum; and our newest dining option is currently in progress in the Campus Center. This fall, Capital will have a bar & grill as well as concert venue space above the Capital Court. I can’t wait to see what it all looks like when it’s finished!!
I’m really looking forward to beginning my junior year as a Capital student in a few weeks. I won’t lie and say that I didn’t enjoy my summer off, but I think I’m ready to get back to being busy & having a set schedule each day. I’ll certainly be keeping myself busy! I’ll still be working in the Admission Office as a tour guide 4 mornings a week, tutoring Spanish at Capital’s Center for Excellence in Learning & Teaching, being an RA for Cotterman Hall (3rd Floor), volunteering at Nationwide Children’s Hospital as well as my 16 credit hours of classes!
Well, I think that’s about it for now. I hope that everyone enjoys the last few weeks of summertime & please feel free to leave questions and/or comments!
