CAPITAL WRAPS UP 2009 SLATE WITH SENIOR DAY GAME AGAINST BALDWIN-WALLACE

The winningest decade in the history of Crusader football will come to an end on Saturday when Capital plays host to Baldwin-Wallace on Senior Day at Bernlohr Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and Fans can follow the action with FREE Live Stats, Video and Audio beginning with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Pregame Show at 1:00 p.m.

Capital has won 71 games since the start of the 2000 season which is the most wins of any decade in school history. The next best decade in CU history was the 1980s when the Crusaders earned 49 victories and their only OAC Title (1987).

For the third time this season, #13 Capital came up just short to a nationally-ranked opponent as the Crusaders lost to #17 Ohio Northern, 31-21 in a key OAC matchup last Saturday. Matt Heagen led all players with 14 tackles including 11 solo stops and two for loss.

Baldwin-Wallace posted a 28-14 win over Wilmington last Saturday on its Senior Day. B-W was led offensively by John McGraw and Kyrell Crook. McGraw ran for a gamehigh 129 yards in 23 attempts with two TD. Crook had 70 yards in 21 attempts.

SPECIAL EVENTS FOR SATURDAY’S GAME
Prior to Saturday’s game the senior members of the Capital student athletics training staff, cheerleading squad and football team will be honored on the field along with their parents. Overall 28 student-athletes makeup the senior class on the 2009 football team.

BALDWIN-WALLACE 17, CAPITAL 0 – Nov. 15, 2008
Visiting Capital could get nothing going offensively on a cold and rainy day in a 17-0 loss at Baldwin-Wallace in the OAC finale for both teams.

The Crusaders finished with only 58 yards of total offense in 50 plays from scrimmage led by Ty Parks and Dominic D’Andrea who had 13 yards rushing apiece. Tim Conner had seven rushes for 11 yards.

Defensively, the Crusaders were led by a 13 tackle effort by Brad Pickens. Eric Andriacco, Sam Jacobs and Pete Ankrom each had big days for the Capital defense with 11, 10 and nine tackles apiece.
