Bachelor's (BSN) Completion

The growing demand for nurses with advanced degrees is no secret. And neither is the fact that the best opportunities come to those who never stop learning and growing.

Capital University's School of Nursing makes it possible for working RNs with a diploma or associate degree in nursing to earn a bachelor of science in nursing degree. With help from Capital's Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL), we've created a BSN program that is:

Why Go for a BSN?

You may have recently begun your nursing career or your years as an RN may have made you an expert in patient care. But in the fast-changing world of healthcare, it's important to stay ahead of the curve. A BSN degree can help you:

  • Advance more quickly in your career
  • Earn a higher salary
  • Enhance your critical-thinking, computer, and oral and written communication skills
  • Expand your job opportunities, both in and beyond traditional nursing in hospital settings
  • Increase your confidence and satisfaction on the job

If you have an associate degree in nursing (ADN) and a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing major, you could get a BSN in as few as 4 semesters. Learn more about how long it will take to get your BSN degree.

What You'll Learn

When you get your BSN at Capital, you will walk away with:

  • Critical-thinking skills you can apply directly to everyday situations
  • The cultural competency you need to treat patients from diverse backgrounds
  • A broad perspective of the key issues faced by the nursing profession
  • The ability to use nursing research to impact patient outcomes of care

Many students feel that our coursework gives them a better sense of their roles as nurses. See us through the eyes of some of our students.

Finding the Time (and Money) for School

Your life is full of career, family and financial commitments. So how will school fit into the picture?

Many of our students have wondered the same thing. That's why we:

Everyone's situation is different. You will work closely with your adviser, the Financial Aid Office and others at Capital to plan a course of study that is appropriate for you.
