BOX SCORE COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Capital University volleyball team went the distance for the second straight match of the day, but this time could not come out on top as the Crusaders lost to visiting Hanover, 2-3 (25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 13-15) in Friday's action at the 2009 Capital Volleyball Opener.

CU was held to just .093 hitting as a team with the senior duo of Allison Hostetler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton HS) and Jennifer Fekpe (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) serving as the lone Crusaders to reach double figures in kills. Hostetler hit .312 with 13 kills, eight digs and four blocks while Fekpe finished with 12 kills and four blocks.
Classmate Jenna Zumberger (DeGraff, Ohio/Fairlawn HS) tallied seven service aces to go along with 36 assists, eight kills and nine digs for the Crusaders.
The trio of senior Sara Doebel (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde HS) and sophomores Courtney Diller (Columbus Grove, Ohio/Columbus Grove HS) and Lauren Gauvreau (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) each reached double digits in digs. Doebel finished with 18 while Diller had 17 and Gauvreau had 14.
