Hey everyone! It seems as though it's been a while since I've written! I know that many of you have been sitting on the very edge of your seats, awaiting an update concerning my freshman experience...I am sorry to have prolonged your agony, but I have been extremely busy! None the less, you're reading pleasure is still a top priority...so here it goes...I'll start with this past weekend because once again, it was fun!
Once our classes ended on Friday, my roommate, her cousin, and I ate dinner at Applebee's. Later, we headed to our former high school to support the football team during their first home game. They lost...extremely bad, but it was still nice being able to visit with the people I graduated with, as well as a handful of my favorite teachers.
Once the game ended, my roommate, a group of our friends, and I stopped over at Leah's house (she is the girl I introduced to you in the last post). We spent time visiting with her family because they missed us all, and then we took the group back to campus to see our dorm. They really liked it, and we all had a blast..talking, laughing, and watching movies. They left at 2 a.m. and I went straight to sleep!
The next morning, my roommate, her boyfriend, friends of ours from Cincinnati, and I headed over to Donato's for lunch and then came back to campus. My parents met me here for Cap's first home football game. I was so happy to see them, and to top it all off..we won! :-)Later, I headed to Graeter's for ice cream with a few of the girls. I really love the fact that I spent time with friends from high school and hung out with friends from Cap..all in the same weekend! It really can work, if you make an honest effort!
I attended church the next morning, and spent the rest of the afternoon running errands with my mom. She's my favorite person to hang out with..hands down! (The rest of you, please try to understand!)
After a fun filled weekend, I jumped head first into my week. To be honest, it started poorly, but I've done my best to remain positive. One neat thing that took place this week was the fact that my friend Jerran and I were elected to represent S.S. on Hall Council! Jerran is the President of Hall Council and I am the Programming Chair and Hall Representative. We campaigned for a week, hung flyers, and recruited voters. It was fun, it paid off, and it reminded me of student government elections from high school! Our first planning meeting was on Monday. The S.S. Hall Council has several ideas, everyone on the council works well together, and we are all looking forward to an outstanding year!
That's my update..I hope everything is going well for all of you! I'll write more soon! ~Amanda~
