DELAWARE, Ohio - The Capital University men's golf used back to back rounds of 333 to finish in 10th place out of 11 teams at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Oakhaven GC.
Capital posted a two-round total of 666, which was only nine shots back of ninth place Ohio Northern (657) and 11 shy of eighth place Denison (655). Host Ohio Wesleyan won the team title with a combined score of 595.
Senior Jesse Moss (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) was the top Crusader finisher on the day. After a first round score of 85, Moss carded a 78 in the second round for a combined total of 163. Junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla,./Palmetto HS) also had a combined score of 163 after rounds of 78 and 85 for Capital.
The duo of senior Chas Manning (Granville, Ohio/Granville HS) and freshman Wes Holler (Marion, Ohio/Marion Pleasant HS) each posted scores of 85 in consecutive rounds for a score of 170.
Freshman Dillon Thomakos (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Tuscarawus Central Catholic HS) rounded out the day for CU with a combined total of 175 following rounds of 87 and 88.
Capital returns to action at the OAC Fall Invitational on Sunday and Monday. Baldwin-Wallace will be the host for the event at Fox Meadows CC.
