WOMEN'S SOCCER STAGES 1-1 DRAW AT MOUNT ST. JOSEPH

CINCINNATI, Ohio - For the first time this season, the Capital women's soccer team played to a tie, 1-1 against Mount St. Joseph Sunday.

Crusader senior Natasha Ballard (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg HS) scored her second goal of the season in the 46th minute to give Capital a 1-0 lead. The home team answered in the 74th minute when Mount St. Joseph's Jessica Smith assisted on Jessica Pykosz's goal.

Capital (5-2-1) could not manufacture a win despite outshooting Mount St. Joseph 22-14, including outshooting the home team 9-7 in shots on goal. The Crusaders also had a 7-1 corner kick advantage. Junior Rose Bussey (Grove City, Ohio/ Grove City HS) had six saves in net for Capital.

Sunday was the third straight match where the Crusaders limited their opponent to one goal or less, and have increased their unbeaten streak to three games. Capital finished their four game road trip with a 2-1-1 record.

Capital returns home for a three game home stand, starting with Wittenberg on Wednesday at 5:00pm.
