COMPLETE RESULTS MEDINA, Ohio - Every member of the Capital men's golf team either maintained or improved his score from the first round to the second as the Crusaders finished seventh out of 11 teams at the OAC Fall Invitational hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at Fox Meadow C.C. on Sunday and Monday.
Capital was seventh with a two-round score of 642, which was one shot back of sixth-place Muskingum (641) and five shots behind Ohio Northern (637) in fifth position. Host Baldwin-Wallace finished in fourth place with a score of 631 while Otterbein took home the team title with a team score of 618.
Senior Jesse Moss (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) was the top CU finisher with a 154. He went posted a 78 in the first round and a 76 in the second to place in a tie for eighth out of 64 golfers.
Fellow senior Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) finished in 13th place by carding back-to-back rounds of 78 to finish two strokes shy of Moss with a 156.
Freshman Brandon Lortz (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington HS) tied for 30th position after making the biggest improvement from the opening to the closing round. He tallied an 85 in the first round and a 78 in the second to post a 163.
Junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) used scores of 85 and 84 to combine for a 169 and finish in a tie for 44th place.
Senior James Koon (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley HS) rounded out the CU finishers in a tie for 53rd place. He started with a 90 and finished with an 84 for a total of 174.
Capital will next host its own CU Fall Classic on Saturday at Westchester Golf Club in Canal Winchester.
