MEN’S GOLF EIGHTH AFTER OPENING DAY AT MOUNT UNION INVITATIONAL

COMPLETE RESULTS 

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Capital men's golf team sits in eighth place out of 11 teams after Sunday's first round of the 2009 Mount Union Invitational held at Tannenhauf CC.

Capital is tied with Muskingum with a team score of 313.  CU is just two strokes back of seventh place Walsh (311) and eight shots behind Otterbein (305).

Senior Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) was the top Crusader following the opening round with a 77 to tie for 27th place out of 85 competitors.

Freshman Brandon Lortz (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington HS) was just one stroke behind Zaborsky with a 78 to put himself in a tie for 35th place individually.

The senior duo of Jesse Moss (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) and James Koon (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley HS) were also in the mix as they tied for 43rd place with identical first round scores of 79.

Junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) and sophomore Cameron Baker (Lima, Ohio/Spencerville HS) rounded out the Crusaders in action on Sunday.  Garcia posted an 80 to put himself in a tie for 56th place while Baker carded an 81 to sit in a tie for 58th position.

Play will resume on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 11 a.m.
