COMPLETE RESULTS MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Capital University men's golf team played through rainy conditions to place third out of five teams at the Manchester Fall Invitational on Saturday.
Capital tallied a two-round team total of 635, which was just six strokes behind second place Franklin. Defiance had the top team score of 621.
Senior Jesse Moss (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) led the Crusaders as he tied for ninth place out of 36 golfers. He carded a 76 in the first round followed by a 78.
Fellow Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) was just outside the top ten with an 11th place finish after scores of 75 and 82. He was followed closely by classmate James Koon (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley HS) who tied for 15th place, just two shots back overall after rounds of 79 and 80.
The trio of senior Chas Manning (Granville, Ohio/Granville HS), junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) and sophomore Stephen Moller (London, Ohio/Madison Plains HS) tied for 31st place with a combined total of 169 to round out the Crusaders in action.
Capital will close out its fall season with the Wittenberg Invitational on Oct. 13.
