BOX SCORE NEW CONCORD, Ohio- Three first half goals propelled the Capital women's soccer team to a 4-0-road victory over OAC foe Muskingum on Saturday. Four different Crusaders scored goals in what was Capital's second highest scoring match of the season.
Junior Kaylee Phillips (Watkins, Ohio/Watkins Memorial HS) scored her second goal of the season in the 17th minute, and classmate Kellie Gustin (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro HS) found the back of the net for the third time this year less than six minutes later.
Sophomore Tara Zimmer (Vandalia, Ohio/Vandalia-Butler HS) increased CU's lead to 3-0 with her first goal of the season in the 27th minute.
The Crusaders' offense continued to swarm the Muskies' net in the second half, as Katy Bluher (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville HS) tallied her first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 55th minute.
Capital controlled the tempo of the match from the onset, recording 23 shots to five for Baldwin Wallace, including a 15-3 advantage in the first half (including a 17-4 edge in shots on goal). Rose Bussey (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City HS) hauled in four saves en route to recording her second shutout of the season and improved to 2-0-1 as a starter this season. CU also held an 8-0-corner kick advantage.
