BOX SCORE BEREA, Ohio - In a back and forth match that took five sets to be decided, the Capital women's volleyball rallied to win the decisive fifth set and the match at Baldwin Wallace (21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 15-12).
With the win, Capital remains at first place in the OAC standings with a 14-9 overall record and a 3-0 mark in conference play.
Leading the Crusaders to victory were sophomore Emily Heitmeyer (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Grove HS) and senior Allison Hostetler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton HS), who tallied 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Senior Sara Dobel (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde HS) continued to pace the Crusader defense by recording 29 digs.
After dropping the first set, CU showed their resolve by winning the next two sets, including notching an impressive .276 hitting percentage in the second set (compared to the Yellow Jackets' .194 hitting percentage).
Capital, undaunted after losing a close fourth set, came back to win the fifth and remain atop the OAC. For the match, the Crusaders out hit the Yellow Jackets .208 to .190.
