This year, Capital and Otterbein are taking their rivalry off the field to see who can bring in the most blood donations during their inaugural Otterbein vs. Capital Alumni Blood Battle.
This event encourages alumni and students to donate blood in the spirit of the long-coveted rivalry between the two schools. Partnering with the Central Ohio Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross, each school will host a blood drive on Friday, Oct. 16, from 1–7 p.m.
Alumni and students can come to either campus — Capital's is The Capital Center — to give blood and have the chance to make their donation count as a vote for their alma mater. The votes will be tallied, and the winning school will be presented with a trophy during the pregame ceremony at the Otterbein vs. Capital football game on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Otterbein.
Appointments for both blood drives are encouraged and can be made by calling 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800- 448-3543) or by visiting BloodSavesLives.org.
