BOX SCORE COLUMBUS, Ohio- Brian Zembower's first half goal and senior Steven McCarthy's score off a penalty kick in the second half led to the Capital men's soccer team defeating visiting Mount Union 2-0 in an OAC match.
The Crusaders are now 13-4 on the season and 5-1-1 in the OAC, and the Purple Raiders fell to 8-8-7 and 1-5-1 in the conference.
Zembower (Centerville, Ohio/ Centerville HS) scored in the match's 22nd minute when the senior received a pass into the box by junior Lewis Black (Auckland, New Zealand/St. Peter's College) to give the Purple and White a 1-0 advantage.
After enduring a foul in the Purple Raider box, McCarthy (Centerville, Ohio/ Archbishop Alter HS) added onto his career OAC scoring record by netting his 22nd goal of the season with his penalty kick in the 89th minute.
