VOLLEYBALL LOSES PAIR OF MATCHES ON SENIOR DAY

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Despite going the distance in both matches, the Capital volleyball team dropped both decisions to Otterbein and Westminster on Senior Day.

The Crusaders (16-12, 5-3 in the OAC) opened the day with a 2-3 loss to OAC rival Otterbein (18-25, 17-25, 31-29, 25-15, 7-15).  Capital then lost to Westminster (25-19, 19-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-17).

Senior Allison Hostetler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton HS) tallied 35 kills for the day, while classmate Jennifer Fekpe (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson HS) added 27 kills for the Crusaders.

Senior Sara Doebel (Clyde, Ohio/ Clyde Ohio) notched 47 digs for Capital, while junior Jenna Zumberger (De Graff, Ohio/Fairlawn HS) added five service aces for the Purple and White on the day.

Capital enabled their opponents to combine for a 31-19 advantage on total team blocks. CU also lost the hitting percentage battle .141 to .164. However, the Purple and White did record 125 total kills compared to their opponent's 109.

The Crusaders will travel to Muskingum for an OAC matchup Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
