CAPITAL FOOTBALL RANKED NO. 16 IN LATEST D3FOOTBALL.COM POLL

MINNEAPOLIS - Following a one-point loss to a Top 10 opponent, Capital remained among the nation's elite as it was ranked No. 16 in this week's D3football.com Top 25 Poll, which was released Sunday.

CU (5-2, 4-2 OAC) has suffered both of its losses to Top ranked opponents by a combined eight points this season.  The Crusaders lost to #1 Mount Union, 28-21 on Oct. 11 and then-#10 Otterbein on Saturday, 35-34.

Capital is the third of four Ohio Athletic Conference teams to be ranked in the Top 25.  Mount Union has been ranked No. 1 throughout the season while Otterbein moved up to No. 7 after a win over the Crusaders this week.  Ohio Northern is No. 19 in this week's poll.

CU, which is one of only 10 teams nationally to be ranked in seven consecutive seasons had received votes in every poll this season and has been ranked since week three of the regular season (following Capital's second game) at No. 25 on Sept. 20.

The D3football.com Top 25 Poll is voted upon each week by a panel of sports information directors and media members from across the country.

Capital will make its final road trip of the 2009 regular season this Saturday as it heads to Muskingum for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.  Fans can follow the action with FREE live audio beginning with the Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine Pregame Show at 1:00 p.m. at www.CapitalCrusaders.net.
