CAPITAL FOOTBALL JUMPS UP TO NO. 13 IN THIS WEEK’S D3FOOTBALL.COM POLL

MINNEAPOLIS - Following a convincing 35-7 over Muskingum, Capital improved three spots to No. 13 in this week's D3Football.com Top 25 Poll, which was released on Sunday evening.  CU is now the second highest of four ranked Ohio Athletic Conference teams.

The #13 Crusaders (6-2, 5-2 OAC) will face their third ranked opponent of the season this Saturday when they play host to #17 Ohio Northern at 1:30 p.m.  All fans can receive FREE admission to the game with the donation of a new or gently used winter hat of pair of gloves at the door.  The game will can also be followed with FREE Live Stats, Video and Audio at www.CapitalCrusaders.net.

CU has suffered both of its losses to Top 10 ranked opponents by a combined eight points this season.  The Crusaders lost to #1 Mount Union, 28-21 on Oct. 11 and then-#10 Otterbein on Oct. 24, 35-34.

Capital is the second of four Ohio Athletic Conference teams to be ranked in the Top 25.  Mount Union (8-0, 7-0 OAC) has been ranked No. 1 throughout the season while Otterbein (7-1, 6-1 OAC) slid to No. 15 after a 25-22 loss at Marietta.  Ohio Northern (6-2, 5-2 OAC) is No. 17 in this week's poll with its two losses also coming to only Mount Union and Otterbein.

CU, which is one of only 10 teams nationally to be ranked in seven consecutive seasons had received votes in every poll this season and has been ranked since week three of the regular season (following Capital's second game) at No. 25 on Sept. 20.
