Lutheran scholarships

Capital University is one of the oldest and largest Lutheran-affiliated universities in the country. We offer several scholarships to Lutheran students who are active in their churches and/or related to a member of the Lutheran clergy.

Children of Pastors

Awarded to entering dependent students whose custodial parent is an active, registered Lutheran clergy person. This award is equal to half the price of tuition and is renewable for eight fall and spring semesters (four years) for as long as you remain full time and earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 and your parent remains an active, rostered Lutheran clergy person.

Lutheran Heritage Grant

Awarded to entering first-year and transfer students who are members of Lutheran congregations and who have demonstrated leadership within their congregations and schools. This tuition-based award is renewable if your cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher. Awards are made for a maximum of eight fall and spring semesters (four years).

Partners in Education

Awards are made to full-time undergraduate students who are members of participating Lutheran congregations. Capital University matches funds contributed by the congregations up to the annual maximum of $500. You must contact your pastor each year to identify your congregation’s level of participation. This award is not applied to a student’s account until the congregation's donation is received. Awards are matched for a maximum of eight fall and spring semesters (four years).
