CRUSADER HARRIERS CLOSE OUT SUCCESSFUL SEASON AT NCAA REGIONALS TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Running for the final time in 2009, the Capital men’s and women’s cross country teams staged a strong effort at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship meet. The women secured a place among the Top 30 teams competing with their 29th place finish, while the men finished 33rd in the region.
TEAMWORK LEADS TO SUCCESS FOR CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS AT OAC CHAMPIONSHIPSWILMINGTON, Ohio - Running competitively through a team effort enabled the men’s and women’s cross country teams to achieve the goals they set prior to the OAC Cross Country Championships at Wilmington. For the second consecutive year, the men’s team bested rival Muskingum for a ninth place finish, while the women ran by Muskingum and Heidelberg to claim eighth place.
CRUSADERS FORGE AHEAD AT FRIENDSHIP INVITATIONALCEDARVILLE, Ohio - On a perfect day for running and competing on a favorable course, Capital’s men’s and women’s cross country teams seized the day, taking home 12th and 13th places, respectively at the 2009 Friendship Invitational on Saturday.

An Alaska Native, Booth was welcomed to Capital by hot weather, a brand new Midwest culture, and new teammates in which he would help in his role as a varsity runner in just his first year on the squad. Sports information assistant Bryan DeArdo talked with Booth about his first year at Capital, the differences between Alaska and Columbus, and his interesting nickname.

The Crusader women finished 14th out of 19 teams while the CU men were 14th out of 20 teams in the NCAA Division III competition.

The CU men placed 17th out of 21 teams while the women were 18th out of 23 teams.

CU’s women placed ninth overall out of 18 teams while the men were 10th out of 20 teams.
CAPITAL OPENS WITH STRONG EFFORT AT CARL BROUGHTON INVITEMARIETTA, Ohio – The Capital University men’s and women’s cross country teams began their 2008 seasons with solid opening performances at the 2008 Carl Broughton Invitational hosted by Marietta College at the Carl Broughton Nature Preserve on Saturday morning. The Crusader men finished fourth out of 10 teams while the women were sixth out of 10 teams on the same course that will host the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship later this season.
