I WILL - Casey FilasMen’s tennis player Casey Filas has been a major contributor to a team that has continued to climb up the OAC standings. After finishing eighth in the conference in 2008, the Crusaders were among the league’s best five teams in 2009. The Nursing major discusses how the team will continue their ascension in 2010, as well as his favorite all-time tennis players and who is better between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
CAPITAL PLACES TWO ON OAC AT-LARGE ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMAUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University had two student-athletes named to the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s At-Large Academic All-Conference team on Monday following a vote conducted amongst the OAC’s faculty athletics representatives. Juniors Daniel Zaborsky (men’s golf) and Max Hoff (men’s tennis) were each selected to the OAC Academic All-Conference First Team.
HOFF, FILAS EARN ALL-OAC RECOGNITIONAUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Capital men’s tennis tandem of Max Hoff and Casey Filas each earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition on Thursday following voting conducted amongst the conference’s head coaches. Hoff was a Second Team selection while Filas was an Honorable Mention pick.
CAPITAL SWEEPS CENTRAL STATE, 9-0COLUMBUS, Ohio – Host Capital swept all of its doubles matches and won each singles match in straight sets to secure a 9-0 non-conference men’s tennis victory over Central State on Thursday at the Columbus School for Girls’ Kirk campus.
CAPITAL ROLLS PAST HEIDELBERG, 8-1SANDUSKY, Ohio – Five of the six Crusaders in action won both their singles and doubles matches as visiting Capital defeated Heidelberg, 8-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference men’s tennis match at Baywinds Athletic Club on Tuesday.
MEN’S TENNIS SWEPT BY MOUNT UNION, 9-0COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital was competitive, but lost an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match to first-place Mount Union, 9-0 on Saturday at the Columbus School for Girls’ Kirk campus. With the loss, Capital (3-12, 3-4 OAC) falls into a three-way tie for fifth place in the OAC standings.
CRUSADER MEN TAKE DOWN WILMINGTON, 7-2COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Capital men’s tennis team earned five singles points and took two of three doubles matches to earn a 7-2 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over visiting Wilmington on Friday at the Columbus School for Girls’ Kirk campus.

MEN’S TENNIS TRIPPED BY WABASH, 6-1DELAWARE, Ohio – The Capital men’s tennis team managed just one singles victory in a 6-1 loss to Wabash on Saturday in a match played at Ohio Wesleyan University.
MEN’S TENNIS BATTLES WITH ALMA IN 6-3 LOSSORLANDO, Fla. – The Crusader men’s tennis team was competitive in nearly every match, but could not earn its first win of the season as it lost to Alma on Tuesday, 6-3. With the loss, Capital falls to 0-3 on the season.
