On Any Given Sunday

Oh look who's posting at the beginning of a week again.  I decided to get the postin' party started Sunday night this week because I have a lot going on tomorrow and the following days.  We technically don't have classes tomorrow, but I'm going to attend some of the seminars and such in commemeration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on campus.

I really can't believe we've only been back at Cap for a week now.  This week has been an extremely long yet enjoyable week. I've really appreciated the "fresh start" mentality and am really looking forward to what this semester has to offer.  My newest involvement just started as this was my first week on University Programming Board.  I'm not sure if I've brought it up on here before, but U.P is the student-led organization in charge of planning fun and entertaining programs for other Capital students.  In addition to offering many different off-site weekend events to various fun Columbus places, each week U.P has a Wicked Wednesday program at 9:30 at night.  Whether its a comedian, block party, trivia night or in the case of this week, a hypnotist-- U.P plans some entertaining and awesome events to answer that burning question "What is there to do on campus??"

Starting this semester, I am on the U.P board...so I am one of 30+ students who get to plan the fun!  If you know me, you know I'm all about the fun- so it should be my kind of thing.  This weekend we had a U.P board retreat filled with fun, food, brainstorming, team building and bonding.  It was held downtown at The New Center, which houses Capital's MBA program.  The food gods called out my name as we finished our day at Bucca Di Beppos...my personal Italian food mecca! (Shout out to all my fellow U.P'ers....)
I had high aspirations to get a lot of homework done today so I could somewhat relax tomorrow. Needless to say, that didn't happen. A little pre-engagement I like to call the most-amazing-crazy-heart pounding-gut wrenching-field goal missin'-Steelers game was on most of the afternoon. And trust me folks, when I'm jumping up and down frantically like a ten year old while continually calling back to the home base in the 'Burgh...there was no time for paper writing.  One thing I know, I need to surround myself with Steeler fans next week!! I can't take the bitter-Bengals fan as a roomate any longer!

I think this is where I hop off the blog train folks.  I should really start thinking about bed. Oh, what do you know- I'm under said-bed as I write...there I go- thinking about it already.

note: got anything to say? say it! Leave me some comments! I like to know who my audience is. Any questions, concerns, comments? Don't hesistate to email me- mdiehm@capital.edu  It would make week- literally.
