This year’s festival offerings of over sixty events include: the Faculty Recital Series; Student Recital Series; the daily Brown Bag Concert Series; Community Outreach Concerts; Gaylord's Jazz Crusade hosted by the Old Bag of Nails; Alumni Concert; the Jazz Ensemble Invitational which has been known to feature community, middle and high school, collegiate and professional ensembles; Master Artist Clinics; and the newly added World Music Feature Series! Our Artist-in-Residence this year is Chicago based percussionist Ruben Alvarez, who has performed with a virtual who’s who in jazz and pop. On Friday, the Invitational component of the festival brings to campus a plethora of performing ensembles from all over the region! The culminating Guest Artist Series Concert features the artistic performances of Ruben Alvarez , percussion; Steve Houghton , drums; Lou Fischer , bass; Stan Smith , guitar; and Stefan Karlsson on piano! There will only be two sets, one at 9:30 and another at 11:30.
