Student Activities Office (SAO)
This is where the action is ….
The Student Activities Office (SAO) is by far one of the busiest places on campus. Whether it is Homecoming, Greek Week, Make-A-Difference-Day, Wicked Wednesday or New Student Programs/Orientation there is always something going on.
The mission of the SAO is to provide students with meaningful, well-rounded, co-curricular experiences. As an integral part of doing so, we strive to foster a community environment where individuals from every background may learn from each other. We offer interactive and developmental experiences that enrich the academic excellence of the University.
What We Do
The SAO serves as a resource for all students and student organizations. The SAO provides numerous opportunities for leadership development, service, involvement and programming. Interested in getting an experience at a small, private, religiously affiliated institution? Then e-mail us at: sao@capital.edu.
How do I get involved?
Simple. Come see us! You can stop by the Information Desk in the Campus Center to pick up any information about upcoming events, student organizations and other opportunities. Stop by the
Community Service and Leadership Development Office for additional service and leadership-related events. A SAO staff member will be happy to meet with you to get you connected to the Cap community.
In the fall, all of the student organizations come together to showcase their opportunities during the Student Organization Fair. This is a great way for you to learn about the student groups on campus. Is there a student organization you wish you to get involved with that isn’t at Capital? No problem – talk to
Todd Shaver in the Student Activities Office about starting your own!
Watch for dates and times of upcoming events in the CU Daily Sheet (a daily e-mail sent automatically to all members of the campus community), the TV in the Post Office Lobby, banners in the Post Office Lobby, table tents in the Capital Court and Crusader Club, the
Events Calendar, or the Community Service and Leadership Development (CSLD) Office’s e-newsletter. To get your copy of the e-newsletter, e-mail Cassandra Funk at
cfunk@capital.edu.
