Jacqueline Barlow-Ware

Jacqueline Barlow-Ware holds a bachelor’s degree in voice performance with Highest Distinction from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, a master’s degree in vocal performance and a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy from The Ohio State University.  Additional music studies were completed at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and in Heidelberg,Germany.  She has sung roles with a number of opera companies and has been active in recitals and oratorio throughout the United States, as well as Germany and Austria.  For twenty five years she was mezzo-soprano soloist at First Community Church in Columbus appearing on their weekly broadcasts and recording sacred music for Beckenhorst Press. She has taught voice at The Ohio State University, the University of Virginia and Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, besides Capital. Recently former students have been featured in leading roles on Broadway in Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Fiddler on the Roof and Wicked, and on National Broadway and International Broadway tours of Grease, Cats, South Pacific, Sound of Music, King and I, and State Fair as well as singing with opera companies. Students have been invited to perform on the popular National Public Radio broadcast of From The Top featuring the best of young talent from across the US.  In addition, her students have received scholarships to the most renowned music conservatories and schools in the US in both classical voice and musical theatre.  Since 1991, twenty of her students have been national winners in some of the most prestigious musical competitions in the United States, as well as numerous regional, state and local winners. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, and currently is on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Buckeye Chapter, and has also served as recent President, Vice President and Board Member for this organization.  She frequently is sought as an adjudicator and workshop leader for many national, regional and state competitions. Her bio has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, and the Marquis’ editions of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in American Education.
