Charles Miller

Charles (Chuck) Miller is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, where he majored in Music Education with an Instrumental (high brass) emphasis.   He taught for 31 years in several Ohio school districts including Tiffin Public Schools, Clyde Exempted Village Schools, and, most recently, in the Gahanna Jefferson Schools.  Mr. Miller has been a band director at all levels, 5th through 12th  grades.  While in Clyde, he was named the recipient of the prestigious “Stanbury Award” as outstanding young band director in the state of Ohio by the American School Band Director’s Association.  His Clyde Bands consistently earned outstanding ratings at OMEA Adjudicated Events.

Mr. Miller retired from the Gahanna Jefferson Schools in 2002, but he continues to assist with high brass sectionals with the Lincoln High School Bands.  He also serves as the musical director for the Gahanna Community Theater’s yearly musical presentation.  In February of 2004, Chuck joined the faculty at Capital University as an adjunct professor, assisting James Swearingen in supervising student teachers in instrumental music.  In the fall of 2005, he began teaching the High School Music Field Experience class to junior music education majors at the Conservatory.
