Nancy Moore, professor of cello and music theory, is also active as a cello teacher for pre-college students. She is an active solo and chamber recitalist and a free-lance chamber musician.
A member of Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Beta, and Sigma Alpha Iota honorary fraternities, she has been a member of Capital's faculty since 1969. She holds a BME from the College of Wooster, MM from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MM in music therapy from Ohio University.
She is currently composing music for a comprehensive cello method book for the beginning student that will incorporate bowing techniques, double stops, rhythm, and positions, and will include etudes in a variety of idioms.
