In 2006, the Crusaders made their second-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament win. In 2005, she led Capital to its first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament crown and earned OAC Coach of the Year honors for the third time in her career and AVCA Regional Coach of the Year honors.
After three years as an assistant coach Briggs was named head coach at Capital in 1993 and has established the Crusaders into one of the top programs in not only the OAC but the region. Aside from the tournament success the past few seasons, Briggs' team's have won the 1996 and 2003 OAC regular season titles.
Aside from team success, Briggs has coached some of the OAC's best players as her program has had the OAC Player of the Year five times and the OAC Freshman of the Year twice. Her teams have been equally as impressive in the classroom winning numerous Academic All-OAC, Academic All-District and Academic All-American honors with two players being named national Academic All-American of the Year.
A Reynoldsburg, Ohio native, Briggs was a four-year letter winner and team captain of the Kent State University volleyball squad. Following her playing career at KSU, Briggs spent two seasons as an assistant volleyball coach at Reynoldsburg High School (1987-88) and three seasons as an assistant at Capital (1989-92).
Along with her volleyball coaching duties at Capital, Briggs also serves as the head women’s golf coach and an instructor for the health and sports science department.
