Bill Thomas, a 2001 graduate of Susquehanna (Pa.) University, starts his first year as the Sports Information Director at Capital after spending four years at the University of Dayton.
Thomas was an assistant director of athletics communication with the Flyers, where he was the primary contact for the women's volleyball, women's basketball and baseball teams. Thomas was named the AVCA Grant Burger Northeast Region SID of the Year during his tenure at Dayton, and also served as a media coordinator for NCAA tournament events and as the tournament manager for the first and second rounds of the 2007 NCAA volleyball tournament.
Prior to working at Dayton, Thomas spent three years as a sports information assistant at Xavier University, where he served as the primary contact for volleyball and baseball and a secondary contact for the men's and women's basketball team.
As an undergraduate student at Susquehanna, Thomas played football and lacrosse and was the primary media contact for five athletic teams and the secondary contact for the football and basketball teams. He will be responsible for overseeing the athletic website and the media relations work for all 18 varsity sports.
