The amount of time it takes you to complete your BSN will depend both on how many courses you need to meet program requirements and on how many courses you take each semester.
If You Have an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Do you have transfer credits from an associate degree in nursing (ADN) program? Most likely, your prior coursework will fulfill all of our program's lower-division science and nursing requirements as well as some general education requirements.
If your ADN gives you fewer than 38 semester hours of nursing-course transfer credit, you'll still get credit for the additional lower-division nursing hours without taking any extra courses at Capital.
If You Graduated from a Nursing Diploma Program
If your diploma program was affiliated with a university, you have probably met Capital's lower-division science requirements. You will also be awarded up to 38 hours of credit for lower-division nursing credit.
If your diploma program was hospital-based and nationally accredited, you will get 38 hours of credit for nursing courses you took while enrolled there. This credit will fulfill your lower-division nursing requirements at Capital .
Keep in mind that everyone's situation is different. Your adviser will be the one most qualified to help you plan your course of study.
