- ROTC Scholarships

Adventure Days 

ROTC offers full tuition scholarships and Capital University covers all room and board expenses for ROTC scholarship recipients.  Plus cadets enrolled in the advanced course can get a monthly stipend.  Scholarship cadets as a freshman can receive $300 per month; sophomores $350, juniors $450, and seniors $500.

What does this mean to you?  If you get an ROTC scholarship at Capital, you won't pay a dime.

If your goal is a four-year degree and you'd like to get financial assistance, you may want to apply for a scholarship from the United States Army and attend Capital University.

Types of ROTC Scholarships

There are many types and levels of scholarships offered; all are based on merit, leadership potential, and physical aptitude. You can apply for a scholarship as a senior in high school, or as a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college.

High School Scholarships

The 4-Year Scholarship awards are based on ACT/SAT scores, recommendations from school officials, an interview with a Professor of Military Science and extracurricular activities. These are full-tuition scholarships.

Campus Based

These awards are based on performance in academic studies and military science courses if already enrolled in ROTC, successfuly passing the fitness test, an interview with a professor of military science, and demonstrated motivation towards an Army career. These are full-tuition scholarships.

Leadership Training Course Scholarships

This award is based on academic achievement from the first two years of college, plus demonstrated motivation in ROTC studies. An interview with a professor of military science and completion of a physical fitness test must also be completed. These are full-tuition scholarships.

All scholarship winners receive from $300 to $500 per month as a stipend for ten months of the school year and $900 each year for books.  And Capital University will cover all room and board expenses for scholarship winners.

Requirements for Award:

Any scholarship candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a United States citizen, and at least 17 years of age
  • Be under 27 years of age on June 30 of your graduation year (waiverable)
  • Completed the ACT (minimum score 19) or SAT (mimumim score 920)
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, athletics or leadership roles
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Pursue an Army approved major
  • Meet physical standards
  • Agree to accept a commission as either Regular Army, Army National Guard or Reserve officer
  • Meet the required 2.5 cumulative GPA in all academic courses
  • Be recommended by the professor of military science
  • Be medically qualified IAW military standards.
