Erika Beatty So only a couple more days till I have to move back into the dorms and start school again.. My winter break wasn't the best ever. The first week, I had my wisdom teeth removed and it took me longer than expected to recover. Also, in that same week, we had to take my puppy to that animal hospital for a chocolate overdose. That was pretty scary. She only weighs 13 pounds and her heart rate was 190. So that's never a good situation. But after a night in the hospital with an IV in her all night, she is all better now! After some guy troubles.. I'm moving on and very excited to be back at Cap with all my girls!! I'm also looking forward to starting new classes with new professors. I'll keep you posted on how that goes!!

Erika Beatty This past weekend was the Capital football game at Mount Union. Being a cheerleader, we traveled to the game. We usually don't go to away games but since Mount Union is a big game, a few of us decided to go. 2 of our moms drove us there. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive so we left around 10am. When we got there, there were SOO many people there!! Mount Union's community is all about football! About 10 minutes into the first quarter, Mount Union had scored 2 touchdowns and it began to HAIL! After the hail it started to snow and then it rained! It was the coldest day of my life. I felt so bad for the football players who were just standing on the sidelines freezing. By the second quarter, Capital had scored but Mount Union managed to block the extra point. The weather kept getting colder and colder. By the end of the game, Capital lost 38-12. It was a tough game because Mount Union is the number 1 team in the state! They're a hard team to beat! This Saturday is the last home game against Muskingum! Come out and cheer on those Crusaders!

Erika Beatty This will be a short post, just commenting on the annoying and loud construction that goes on at Capital at 7:00 in the morning.... It's amazing!

Erika Beatty Today was such a beautiful day! The rain FINALLY stopped and we can all walk to class now without having an umbrella or sweatshirt with us. In one of my classes, we actually had class outside and it made for such a great class. That's what's so great about Capital. The professsors are so open-minded and take the time to really listen to the student's ideas.Well just thought i'd comment on how nice the day was and how wonderful and relaxing that class was outside :-)

Erika Beatty I think it's pretty cool how everyday of classes since we have started, it has rained at least some part of the day. It is pretty much expected now when we come out of a class that it will be raining outside! Oh well... makes for a fun day!

Erika Beatty Wow! So it finally happend, I finally cheered my first college football game! I thought that it would never happen. The game was very entertaining. Going into halftime, Capital was winning 50-0 against Wittenberg. The ending score was 57-7! But once the game was over, most of the first year freshman left campus to go home for the 3 day weekend, me being one of them. So now I am anxious to get back to Cap!
