Am I the only one who feels like we just got back from "Spring break?" I can't believe that we only have three days of classes and then break! Homework, tests, quizzes, papers, and projects all seem to be piling up!
Hopefully it will all get done before break!
The week after break, me and 6 other girls will be going to Grapevine, Texas for the National Student Nurses Association Convention. I am really excited! We will be sitting in on meetings, workshops, speakers and other exciting things! Also, there will be companies from all over the U.S. giving out information on jobs. The weather is supposed to be great, and this will be my first time riding in an airplane!
If you have any questions about nursing or life at Capital, email me at ezirille@capital.edu.
Have a great Easter break everyone!

Emily Zirille Well, it's day two of week two, and I am already overwhelmed with reading, journaling, coursework, and studying. This semester will prove to be my hardest yet. I really enjoy my Nursing 221 class, Nursing Therapeutics and Self-Care. I get to learn the basic skills that are required for a nurse, and that I need to establish before I can head to clinicals this upcoming summer.
I am taking two night classes this semester, and this allows me to have free time to work or to nap ( :-D ) during the day. Napping is definitley a necessity this semester.
On another note, me and my boyfriend just celebrated our one year anniversary this past saturday. It has been such a great year with him! He surprised me and sent me flowers!
Well,I hope you all have a wonderful start of the semester!! And feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions!!

Emily Zirille As I am writing this, 50 million terms, concepts, and ideas that will be on my exams this week are all meshing in my head, so I thought I would take a break.
I can't believe it's the end of the semester, and I also can't believe it's December 10th! Where did all the time go? Nursing has constantly been keeping me busy. It always seems like I am studying for a test or quiz every day. I am really looking forward to the next semester ahead with new classes and new learning.
Wish me luck on my exams! And I wish you all happy holidays and a wonderful new year!
See you in 2008!

Emily Zirille Autumn is my favorite season. The weather isn't too hot, too cold, football is here, Halloween and Thanksgiving are two great holidays, and the colors of Autumn are the best. Reds, yellows, browns, oranges, they are all so wonderful, especially when the leaves are changing.
Capital is such a pretty place in the Autumn. No matter where you walk, you see trees, and leaves, and they compliment the campus so well. It's nice to just sit outside and take in the day.
I've actually just finished two hectic weeks. I had 5 different exams (3 lecture, 2 lab practicals) that I studied for two straight weeks for. So far, I've done well, and hopefully I'll find out good news about the others I have not yet found out about.
I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks where I won't have so many tests to worry about. As an RA, I've had a lot of work to do with that also, and it will be nice to have some time to work on hall programs and bulletin boards. *Quick hello to my hall in S.S., they are awesome!*
Have a wonderful Autumn everyone! It's the best time of the year!

Emily Zirille Well, I'm actually already here at school. No, classes don't start until the 27th, but I arrived here this past Sunday to start R.A. training. We train for the two weeks before students arrive here on campus.
So far, training has been really fun, and I've met a lot of great people. As much as I don't want my summer to end, I'm looking forward to having all of my friends back here at Cap!
So this starts a new year. Good luck to everyone, and have lots of fun!
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave me a comment here or e-mail me at ezirille@capital.edu.

Emily Zirille It's the beginning of June, and it feels like I just got out of school, when realistically, I have been home for a month and a day. It is really hard to believe. Starting school in August seems like a long time from now, but it's going to go so fast. I don't think I can handle it. I really miss my friends from Cap, and I really hope that I get to hang out with them some time over the summer. I just started my summer job this week, and it's not too exciting, but it will save me from being lazy all summer. That's all for now. I hope everyone has a great summer!!!

Emily Zirille Two and a half weeks of school is all that is left. While I am sad that I will be leaving all of my friends here at Capital very soon, I am looking forward to having the summer off of NO SCHOOLWORK!!!! My schedule for next semester is going to be crazy, so I am going to try to relax as much as I can this summer! These last two weeks will consist of manic studying for our finals, and of many end of the year club meetings. I can't believe my first year of college is going to be over in two and a half weeks. Time is going by way too fast!!!
Right now, I am watching Dancing With the Stars, and am really rooting for Apolo Anton Ohno! He is definitley the best! No homework or papers to do tonight, so I get to relax for a while watching some great shows!
For everyone who reads this, I want to wish you the best of luck on your exams!!!

Emily Zirille I love Saturdays. These are the days I get all of my work done, but, the work can not be done efficiently if not interrupted by naps. Today, for instance, I dusted and swiffered my room, ( I love to use the swiffer), and got all of my clothes washed thanks to a nice nap #1 in between. After dinner, I will be working on some school work, but it won't get all done without nap #2. It is hard for me to get any type of nap (whether it be an hour, half hour, or even 10 minutes) during the week because of my packed schedule, so I covet these naps like it's my job.
This past week was crazy with classes, studying, homework, and things to go to, and this upcoming week looks like it is going to slow down a bit. I am very excited about this. Except I do have my first Organic Chemistry exam on friday.......and I'll probably be studying from tomorrow (after the Super Bowl of course) until 10:59 friday morning.
That's all for now....me and my friends are having a mini Super Bowl party in my room tomorrow...should make for some interesting times.
Have a good rest of the weekend!!!
P.S. I <3 Peyton Manning.

Emily Zirille So....I really wanted to make this post on the first, but I am too late. My break has been going well so far, only one week to go. I get my wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow, and I'm really not looking forward to it. I am however, looking forward to coming back to school, even though that means homework will soon be cast upon us. Since school ends on May 3, we really only have 4 more months of school! That is unbelievable!
I am not looking forward to buying books, and I really hope it doesn't snow a lot because I will not enjoy walking in the snow. Oh well, it's been good so far....
Anyway, I will make a longer post once classes start again. I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hopefully 2007 will be better than 2006!!!

Emily Zirille So me and my three best friends here at Capital decided to do a secret santa between us. I was so excited....until I realized I had no idea what I was going to give my person. So in the mere panic I was undergoing after not succeeding in buying a present during Thanksgiving break, we decided to make a run to Polaris last weekend. Finally, after about an hour, and two ideas for a present not turning out well, I found a gift.
Fast forward to last night. The girls came to my room, ordered pizza, popped popcorn, played catchphrase (even though I wasn't very good), and exchanged gifts. My secret santa was Katelyn! And I really like the gift, by the way. Then we watched Elf. :-D
It turned out to be a really fun and entertaining night. The rest of the weekend will be used to study for finals.
Have a good weekend everyone!!

Emily Zirille Well, it is only Wednesday. But it has been a good week so far. First of all, the weather today is nice. It's not sunny, but the temperature is great. Second, I've gotten some exciting grades back today! I got a 95 on Chem exam...I am so pumped, and a 96 on my Oral Comm. mid term. Not to mention a 95 on my oral interpretation speech. So..things are going well. And lastly, I discovered that we get VH1 Classic. This is so exciting, because I love watching all the old videos! Right now, "Black or White" by Michael Jackson is on!! Nothing can beat that.
That's all for now. O yes! I am going to the therapeutic touch thing tonight. I am so excited. They said it would be a relaxing experience. I hope they're right!
I wanted to add: that we came back from the therapeutic touch at around 6:15. Let me tell you, it was amazing. They don't massage, they make you sit with your eyes close and they move their hands, and occasionally touch you, around to see where your energy and hot spots are. I loved it. I wish they would do it every week.
Now I'm off to my ChemSkills.
Have a good night!

Emily Zirille So, a few weeks ago, I was taking a stroll to the Bexley Library, when it started to lightly flurry. I don't consider that the first snow because it last all of 30 seconds. But, today, it did indeed snow, and is still snowing. There is nothing like the first snow. It lets you know that things are changing. It's not like a summer to fall change or a spring to summer change, because you can't really decide the exact moment that it has changed. But today, you can tell it's winter. Atleast to me it is, when there's snow, it's winter. I can't believe it is already snowing, by the way. 2 and a half months ago I was in Maryland at the beach on vacation. Now, I'm in Columbus dressing to not freeze to death. It's amazing how the seasons can make you feel different. Summer makes you feel like you have all the time in the world, no hurry, nothing to worry about. Fall let's you know that you need to get back into the groove of everyday activities and responsibilities. Winter makes you feel nostalgic, and it definitley makes me feel lonely, and just want to stay in and read a book all day.
So, my suggestion is, take the time to notice the changes. You might realize you've changed a little too.

Emily Zirille On Tuesday, I had to give my impromptu speech for Oral Communications. Let me tell you, that that was one of the most nerve-wracking speaking assignment I have ever had to do. Hopefully, I did well. My friend Andrea told me I did good, but I starting laughing in the middle of it because I couldn't say interpret. I kept saying interpretate. haha...
Also on Tuesday, me and the President of CR Nate Dawg (he he) and Sarah went to Ohio State's Ohio Union to stand outside and give John Kerry a "welcoming" to Ohio. Now, I don't want comments saying " Bush sucks" or "I love Kerry" blah blah blah...I just want anyone reading this to know that your opinion counts, and you should express it.
I have to say that I am really excited that it is friday. I get to sleep in tomorrow!!!
Have fun over the weekend everyone!! Hopefully there won't be another 4am fire alarm.........

Emily Zirille I've decided that I need to update. So here we go...
Friday, I had to work from 6-8. But after that, my mom drove down to see me because homecoming was on Saturday. So she spent the night in my room (I don't have a roommate.) We went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. That was yummy.
Saturday- Homecoming Day. Me and ma mere went to Grinder's for brunch. That was yummy. We did a few errands and such and then went to the game. We stayed for the first half and the homecoming part during halftime. We left after that because we were killing Marietta. We walked to Starbucks. That was yummy. Our Starbucks is really cool because the building used to be a bank, so it's really big and the vault is always propped open and they have tables in there that you can sit at. Um...then we hung out for a bit, got some new Cap clothes. Then my mom had to go home, and I went to my friends room and we played apples 2 apples! I didn't win though. :-(
Sunday- I had to work 10-12pm. That sucked, but atleast I got it over with. Then for Capateers, a few of us went to the Oktoberfest in German Village to volunteer. We ended up helping out at the kids station making crafts. We only did that for an hour though because they were closing early (the station, not the Oktoberfest.) We found out that Saving Jane was supposed to be having a concert, so we stayed for that. that was really good. We were up front and got to see them up close. I stood by the speakers though...so I am still recovering from that...lol.
Monday- Which is yesterday! I had class from 12-3. Then I signed up to help out at an open shelter from 4-7. That was an eye opening experience and I'm really glad I helped out. I will definitley be going the next time too.
So that's it for now. Have a good week everyone!!!

Emily Zirille So, me and my sweet friend Andrea W. decided to go see a movie at the Drexel theater across the street. We decided to see "Hollywoodland." And let me tell you, I was ready to leave by 8:30. It started at 8. I mean, it wasn't THAT bad, I think it could have been done another way. The idea of the movie was really good, it was about the suicide ( or was it murder...DUN DUN DUN!!) of George Reeves, the original 1950s Superman. But, it just wasn't done well, I have to say.
But anyway, I have to do some major laundry tomorrow. Grr...
That's it for now!
Sleep tight!!

Emily Zirille Another week is being finished (and it felt like a long one to me...) and the weather isn't looking too good...but hopefully I will have an enjoyable weekend. Not sure what I am up to tonight, or tomorrow morning/afternoon, but at night I'll be going to my brothers (who lives in Pataskala, which is maybe 20 minutes away) for the night and then we are going up to Cleveland for the Browns game on Sunday. My parents are meeting us up there. So hopefully, that will be a good game. I have to say that I really miss my family, but I am having a good time here at Cap. My closest friends are going home for the weekend, so I'll be missing you guys!!!
They are having a couchfest tomorrow which I am excited about.....sitting on couches and listening to music...what is better than that?
I am excited to say that I don't have any homework this weekend!!!!!! What a relief...
By the way, if you have any questions or comments, just send them in! I will definitley write back!!
Have a good weekend everyone! Stay dry!

Emily Zirille So, me and two other girls (I'd promised them that I'd post their names so, Katelyn Burga and Andrea Williams) decided to go the Drive-In. Note: Neither of them have ever been to the drive-in, such a travesty.) Anywho, so we walked to catch the shuttle, and it left before we got to it, so we decided to walk, and we saw the shuttle come back and then go again, and by chance, when we got to the O-Lot, the shuttle was still sitting there. So, we got there, reinforced our directions to the drive-in, and headed out. We got there with no mistakes or glitches. We ended up seeing Gridiron Gang, which I really didn't want to see, but ended up really liking.) The second movie was Crossover(which I haven't even seen previews for) and we decided to not stay. We got back to Bexley (with only one minor turn the wrong way) and decided to go to Kroger's for a 11pm stop. We got the things we needed and headed back.
The girls really liked the drive-in, and we will be watching on-line every week to see what's playing.
So to continue the football thing from the previous night, we are going to the Crusaders game this afternoon.
Good luck guys!!!

Emily Zirille This is a short little blog. But as I was walking by the Learning Center after walking through Saylor-Ackerman, I saw all the memorial flags that were put in the ground. And for a brief second, I felt really calm and at peace. There was a sign posted that it was a 9/11 project sponsored by the College Republicans (woo hoo!!). I want to thank everyone who is out there right now fighting for my freedom, giving me the privilege to attend school, and free to walk outside without living in fear. Always Remember and Never Forget.

Emily Zirille Today has been full of work. I had my 8am class, Oral Communications (speech) and then I went back to my dorm to finish my work that is due tomorrow. Today, I started my work study! If you don't know what a work study is, it is an opportunity for students who are qualified for work study (it will tell you on your financial aid packet) to work for a couple of days a week to earn some money!! I am working at the Capital Center (where the work-out equipment, basketball court, and stadium is) front desk for two hour shifts 3 days a week. So I'm excited that I have a job but it doesn't take me away from quality homework time.
Tonight is my first CUSNA (Capital University Student Nurses Association) meeting in the Bridge of Learning. So I'm looking forward to that!
The weather really warmed up today, and NO rain!

Emily Zirille I've decided that I really hate speeches, most importantly, delivering them.
We had our first speech this morning (my 8am class, my only one for today :-D .) We had to draw ourselves, right now, and what is going on with us. We all know I'm a terrible artist, so that sucked. The speech wasn't formal, we just had to get up and talk about our speech for 1 minute. I was terrified.
It went pretty well, I guess, at least Andrea told me I didn't suck, so there you go. I am going to really going to have to work at this...
So, we got out of class early today, at about 8:45, I decided I was hungry, went to breakfast, came back to my dorm at 9, and went back to sleep. :-D
Got up at 11, did some typing, went to lunch, and then I went to the library, where I was there until 1 figuring out my chemistry.
After that, I decided to take a walk (even though it was raining) to my bank to mess with my last Ponderosa check ( my job that I had at home) ( Last is the key word, LAST!) stopped at CVS on my way back, and then I stopped at starbucks. Yum.
Now, I'm back in my dorm, getting ready to do some homework. There was supposed to be a dodgeball tournament tonight, but the weather had to make it postponed. Boo!! I wasn't going to participate, I was going to be a spectator. Oh well!
Oh yeah, besides the rain, it is the perfect temperature out. I love it...<3

Emily Zirille You know school has officially started when you have a ton of homework to do. My goal is to get most of it done tonight so that I don't have to worry about it over this long weekend.
I wanted to say that I am already missing my new friends who went home for the break! They are amazing.
It's weird to think that I miss my new friends more than my highschool ones right now, I never would have thought that would happen.
This is a short post. Got some work to do.
See ya later!!
