--Capital University’s men’s soccer team lost its home opener in a heartbreaking 2-1 in double-overtime loss to Anderson (Ind.) University Tuesday in Columbus.

Anderson’s Travis Jones earned the game-winning goal in the last 30 seconds of double-overtime.

Freshman Dan Bertrams (Centerville/Kettering Alter) earned his first collegiate goal in the 23rd minute off a pass from junior Paul Sparke (Cincinnati/Moeller). Not long after, Anderson’s Peter Boberg tied the game 1-1 entering the 35th minute.

The Crusaders drop to 2-1 overall and return to the playing field this weekend when both the women and men’s teams travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Espirit DIII Festival. The men take on Eastern Mennonite (Va.) at 3 p.m. Saturday.
