Well, here I am weeks into the school year already and I’ve neglected to post anything…how disappointing. So, I must catch you up to speed on the ever so busy lifestyle of a college student.
The life of the nursing major here at Capital is ever increasingly busy, and extremely stressful. Not to scare any possible students or those looking at going into nursing, but that’s simply the facts of it. The nursing program here is great, one of the best, but as with anything great or worthwhile it requires hard work and will most definitely be worth it. This week, starting Friday, I have a Microbiology/Immunology Exam, then Monday an Anatomy/Physiology Exam, Tuesday a Microbiology/Immunology Lab Practical and then Thursday an Anatomy/Physiology Lab Practical. Well…yeah, that’s a little discouraging. But this week isn’t that bad, no exams or lab practicals; maybe even no quizzes…well it is only Monday.
Outside of that, things are going very well, very fast. The seasons are changing which makes campus nice and colorful. All of the campus organizations are up, running, and in full swing so that only adds to the long list of commitments and obligations. But this is a good way to spend time. I’m surrounded by those that I want and choose to be surrounded with. The strongest ties of that being with my fraternity, Delta Tau Upsilon (DTU). Getting involved with Greek Life has led me to many other organizations and opportunities both on and off campus. And even though I’m a nursing major with the type of schedule I carry, working part time and all these organizations I seemingly find a way to balance it all.
On a side note, regarding Greek Life. Greek Week occured this last week and after a week of grueling (both physical and intellectual) competitions with the dust settled and the scores were tallied the winner for the THIRD YEAR in a row was DELTA TAU UPSILON!!! After wonderous teamwork and great effort all week from everyone, it all payed off yet again. We all performed excellent and have tremendous pride for ourselves and the Greek community of which we are a part of.
Although this is fairly short, it’s a bit of an update to let you all know what’s going on here and that contrary to what my posting schedule has been I’m still alive, lol. Well I’d better get back to work, theirs enough of it.
