Hey everyone! It's been a little while, so I thought I'd take a minute to update you. I've been so busy studying for tests...I had two days worth on Monday and Tuesday, but I got through it and I assume that I did well. Last week I started my volunteer work at St. Vincent's, and I really like it there! I spent most of my day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the "Panda" classroom. I worked with the most adorable kindergarteners! I ate breakfast and lunch with them, read to them, played with them during free time, and helped get them to sleep. Everyone there was so nice to me! I really enjoyed the experience, and I'm looking forward to continuing my volunteer work there.
Aside from that, this past weekend I attended my first pageant. It was hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha near Ohio Wesleyan. A few of my friends participated in it, and they all looked so beautiful! I had a lot of fun there; several people from Capital attended as well. After the pageant, my friends, my boyfriend, and I ate at Waffle House. (Note: The one by Polaris is so much better than the one by Capital!...Sorry if anyone thinks differently!)
The rest of my weekend, I spent getting ready for midterms, and watching movies during my free time. (This all took place after the season finale of Flavor of Love, of course..lol..One of my residents and a few of my friends were glued to the television. We were all so happy with Flav's decision!) Aside from that, the best stress reliever for me was, The Little Mermaid! (Disney's re-released version, of course, because it's digitally enhanced...I still know all of the songs!) I watched Over The Hedge as well; it had a good story line, but for those of you who prefer non "G-rated" movies, I checked out The Omen too. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be; I think "unnerving" is a better term for it! Last but not least, to celebrate the end of my midterms, I went to the movies to see The Departed...now that is a good movie; it was full of action and surprises..not to mention Matt and Leo! Who wouldn't want to see it? :-)
Now that I've completed my movie review, I'll get on with the rest of my blog. Today was our one day of midterm break, so I made the most of it..lol! I layed around, went to Taco Bell, and later spent time with friends at my old high school football game; it was fun, but cold! Now I'm getting ready to stop by a birthday party for a friend of mine..the theme is pajammas..but I think I'll throw on slippers and call it a night...I did mention that it's cold, right?!
I hope that everyone else has a great weekend! I'll write more soon.
Amanda
